Every now and then we have the chance to receive in our competition movies that are breathtakingly amazing, and that happens not as often as one may think. Lately we’ve got some movies that made us applause, even though we were watching them in front of our computers. 'The Barber’s Cut' is one of the few movies that made us go “wow” after we saw it.

The complexity of this plot, combined with the absurdity of the situation and the catch phrases used in this short film made Mark Brocking’s 'The Barber’s Cut' one of the few movies we’re thrilled to have had in our festival.

At a first glance, the story is dramatic, but it goes to be one of the funniest, if not the funniest short we've watched lately. The whole action centres on a woman and a man who wake up head by head inside a fridge of a psychotic killer. Did we mention that their heads were cut off? From this point on their struggle is to escape from the basement of this killer who does gruesome experiments on human bodies, and move on with their lives. Of course, the situations presented here are way more complex than we can provide in this short description. It’s up to you to watch this magnificent short and see the rest.

'The Barber’s Cut' is exquisite at any level. The score is very good, the cinematography is amazing – all in all, everything looks perfect. Not to mention the acting – premium class!

It is hard to think about a plot that can be shocking yes artsy at the same time. Well, Mark Brocking managed to combine these elements with such an ease that you will not believe your eyes. Even though 'The Barber’s Cut' is not for the weak as you may not be very comfortable seeing two heads talking one to the other in a fridge, you should totally give it a try. We are sure you will enjoy it as much as we did!
