It has been a while since we had a movie that got us mad and made us cry at the same time. ‘The Jim Crow Holocaust’ tells the story of a very young Muslim boy who gets bullied in ways some cannot even imagine, because of his religion. It is only when a Jewish girl comes to him like a guardian angel and helps him get through this mess.
Many movies come out each year and we applaud them for their screenplay or originality. But only once in a long while does one come out and resets the whole paradigm of moviemaking. ‘The Jim Crow Holocaust’ is more than just something for us to watch for almost forty minutes, it is something for us to never forget, to teach us a lesson and to remember those who died needlessly along with those who tried to help those same people survive. The intensity of this action clearly reminded us of ‘Schindler’s List’, a movie that scared most of its viewers.
The actors in Jacob Hayek’s movie were completely fantastic. Every single actor and extra seemed to be doing their very best and really lived their roles. The bully from the bus was a very good portrait of our twisted society. Not just anyone could make that character real and get away with it. All of the characters in the film have depth and substance and the best thing was that the main character did a role that is very hard even for an experienced actor, not to mention a young and impressionable teenage boy.
There's a deep message one will get after watching this film – the Jewish girl willing to help our main hero, breaks the barriers of misconceptions and shows the world the true face of humanity. And from our point of view, this is the most important thing this movie has to offer – a true lesson on humanity.
